Low Back Pain-Assessment

Low back pain is a very common presentation in primary care. This assessment is focused on identifying possible cause and ruling out the serious underlying disease. Serious spinal pathology as cauda equina syndrome, spinal fracture and infections are mentioned – this can help the clinician in excluding those conditions. This chart also cites an extensive list of differential diagnosis of low back pain – the management of low back pain is not covered. Please also see related topic- Sciatica.
